PORT EDWARD:
NSRI Port Edward rescue crew, returning to Port Edward from a training exercise at NSRI Shelly Beach on Saturday, 16th May, at 14h05, happened upon a motorcycle and motor vehicle collision on Marine Drive, near to Uvongo, KZN-South Coast.
NSRI medics found the two motorcyclists, believed to be a father and his son, with the father, in his 50’s, deceased and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) efforts were initiated by NSRI medics on the 27 year old son while the alarm was raised.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived on the scene and continued with advanced life support CPR for over an hour on the 27 year old man but sadly he too was declared deceased on the scene.
Police have opened an inquest docket.
The occupants of the vehicle did not require medical assistance.
