In preperation of the GSC, I had this tyre fitted on the front wheel of my Dakar yesterday. Could not replace it with the same (Metzeller Sahara) due to no stock availible. Had a few "oh sh.t" moments on my way home. The handling of the Dakar changed completely (for the worse) with this tyre. Even the wind caused the bike to snake. At speed 120km/h it starts snaking on its own. My question - Will it improve when properly run in, and will it perform as well as the Metzeller Sahara on sand and dirt? If not, I must pay school fees and get another tyre ASAP. Please, anybody with experience of this tyre? Regards

I don't think it will improve in fact i know it won't improve with running in .It will do well on the sand though but you will get a lot more of those "oh sh.t" moments and you will be ready for speedway racing in no time. Bob has the same tyre on his x challenge and riding behind him the other day I also had those "oh sh.t " moments. at times I ride faster than my guardian angle can fly

It will help with the snaking but at 1.4 bar around a tar corner you could loose the front end at times I ride faster than my guardian angle can fly

yes to all but always remember if you run a duel or knobbie under 1.95bar it will wear off very quickly ps never take a knobby over 145km per hour they just fade away before your eyes

Thanks for your replies. I lowered the pressure to 1.6 bar and the bike was stable again on tar. On the orange route at the GAGSC the tyre was excellent!
