Hi guys I am new in this forum, in this biking world and also in this great country, so . . . I need everything. My first question is about maps. I need a proper map of South Africa. I have bought a normal one in a book shop but it hasnt even half of the roads and gravel roads I have seen riding arround Western Cape. I havent a GPS (I am working on it) but anyway i really like to have a map in my tank bag. Can anyone tell me where or how can i find a proper map of South Africa and maybe also the surrounding countries? Thanks a lot. Juan Muñoz

Welcome ;-) Buy a GPS and get Tracks 4 Africa (T4A) http://www.tracks4africa.com/ We have some club members that can help you with a GPS and all the Maps you need... Speak to Chris Boltman 082 443 7054 PS. You can also enable T4A on Google Earth.. Good luck :-) Corne

Hi Juan Welcome to the site - I hope you enjoy it here. Two things: # If you leave a space in front of your paragraphs, they will render as code with spacing exactly as you type it, so you get the blue box and a scrollbar (i.e. don't do it). # I found 'infomaps' very useful. They fold up and cover areas of Southern Africa that are of interest. They also have accommodation and other noteworthy places listed, with GPS coordinates. You can buy them online at http://infomap.co.za Website Administrator [http://honeybadger.net Honey Badger IT Services]

Some of the best maps that include a large section of the dirt roads in South africa are from the AA. I have a large number of their maps in my tank bag and they cover a lot of dirt. For the rest you still need the gps and Tracks for Africa. Its All In The Mind
