Lowering G650GS

I recently bought the G650GS unseen, and find it about 50mm too high. The agents say there is no way to adjust the height, but I have heard there may be. Will appreciate any feedback, thanks.

Hi John,

Trevor is the man I was going to refer you to, so give him a call,

Wrt the reducing height at the forks we spoke of....

As you are going to ride the bike for normal road riding and not for extreme off tar rides, this is a safe move.

If the top fork bridge clamp is released and the lower tripe clamp is released, you can slide the forks up higher. if you come to  1MM gap between handle bar and stantion head you effectively lower the bike by some 30mm.

Torque the clamps up again once finished.

Do them one by one.

Just be aware that lowering the bike the full 5cm MAY make the bike a little more difficult to pull onto the center stand.

Trevors solution is your best bet, but failing that we can shave your seat lower, since those seats in any case have affair bit of foam to play with.

Ek is 1.65m lank, ry n 650GS.  My vurke word net met tye laer gemaak as my dogter hom ry wat nog korter as ek is.
