Pleased to finally be able to say the new series of 6 programs starts this weekend, 20 May on Channel 189 Ignition.

Once again, all the programs were filmed in the Western Cape, so perhaps nothing new to most of you, but we do feature totally different areas from the first series, some absolute gems to stay at, loads of interesting information and history about the places we visit and ride through and we have some really cool interviews with some very well known people.

If you take the time to have a look, please let us know what you think.

Now that we are done, I cannot though tell you how much I enjoyed the first couple of weekend rides with no crew, no cameras, nowhere in particular to be, just enjoying the bike, the landscape and the company of good mates. Seems I’ve been missing something actually smiley.

Part of my new found freedom was a 12 days excursion to the old Transkei riding with some mates on the plastic bikes, led by the very capable Mr. Geoff Russell. Alas this came to an abrupt end on day two when I snapped my lower bicep tendon clean off. And I didn’t even fall, was just trying to move the rear end and pop. So I’ve already had the surgery and now apparently have a very long rehabilitation process to follow. No riding for quite a few months crying.

Anyway, we hope you enjoy the programs.

I'll be away, but our decoder is set to record the whole series. Can't wait! My parents (4x4 people) really enjoy it too.

if they can - same as last year - bring around a poster or two, and floor stickers, we will then promote Season II again....

(well, we will promote it ANYWAY, but you know what we mean!)

If you perhaps wanted to watch the original episodes, the production house IT tiffies have set up  a Vimeo link to all episodes from the first set of programs. It is also open, so no password required.

I have mentioned before, we think overall the second set of programs we have made, with a bit of experience under our belt, are probably better.

I set up my Explora to record the season, but it says 'season 1' broadcasting at 4am?

Maybe they just got the seasons wrong?

Anyone else see the same?

Anyway, will record it and watch and see what happens.

Enjoyed the first season, think I missed a couple of episodes but lovely stuff.

So many mountains, so little time.

Episode three starts tomorrow and we think this one and episode four will turn out to be our favorites.

Firstly, we have interviews with both Hein at the Padstal, and Henk at the Tented Camp and these two guys just blew us away with how they spoke. In both cases we had some script written about the places but we tossed it out once we had cut the interviews as nothing else was needed. Once you've watched Henk talk about the Tankwa, you will just want to go there immediately.

We also put quite a bit of effort into capturing the the feeling you get when riding both Ouberg and Ganaga Passes, and we think we got some pretty stunning footage from the drone while we were out there.

We also have Bainskloof, Katbakkies, DeMond and a stunning place called Blesfontein which is situated right on the edge of the Great Escarpment as well as a bit of a look into Africa Burn. We were actually quite surprised by what we uncovered during this research.

Just noticed that the episode info has been updated (finally). This means though that a series record set for the original wrong info which said it was season one again will now not record. You'll need to set a new series record for the now correct series  two.
