Matroosberg 2009

This year is the 4th time that Leon and Lourens of [http://countrytrax.co.za Country Trax] have organized a weekend of offroad riding and camping at Matroosberg. This trip was previously done in preparation for the GS Challenge, but since the GS Challenge has fallen away, and future access of bikes to Matroosberg is uncertain, the event will be changing venue and/or format. ===Mr. Badger and friends...=== Our group comprised of Mr.Badger and me, Tian and his son Nils (ex-neighbours of mine who joined the club), and Andyman. We took the better part of Friday getting packed and finally embarking on the trip.

Mr. Badger does Matroosberg 2008

The Matroosberg weekend 2008 was the third time that Leon Kroucamp and his merry band (Liza his better half, and Lourens van Rensburg) from Country Trax had organized a camping weekend in preparation for the GS Challenge. The event is fairly exclusive, catering mostly for people that have undergone the official [http://www.countrytrax.co.za/ Country Trax dual-sport offroad training]. A lot of the riding is technical. From the comments of those who had attended the previous weekends, the skill levels of the riders has improved over the years. It was clear that Leon and Lourens' training has had a large part to play in the general ability of this group of riders.

Greatest African - Pre GS Challenge in the SNOW of Matroosberg 2008

On the 5th September 2008 my family woke up after a poor nights sleep from excitement and RELUCTANTLY went to school/work because they new that after school we were going to join Leon, Laurence and fellow organizers at the Greatest African PRE GS challenge at Matroosberg. "IN THE SNOW" How cool is that guys, as Wayne would say!!!! Rumor had it at the time that if the snow was on the camp site then the farmer had agreed to bulldozer it away for us to put our tents down. Do you think this would have reduced the 40 or so bikes limited by Lisa??? No way!!! Die Hard series 1962!!!!
