Breakfast Ride - Dirt and Tar options - Sunday 20 Jan 2018

Our breakfast ride this Sunday will take us to Du Vlei Farm Stall in Hermon.  This is a dual ride, so there will be a dirt and tar option.  The tar ride will be via Du Toitskloof Pass through Ceres to Hermon.

The route for the dirt ride will be decided on the morning depending on the number of participants.

More details at the briefing on Sunday morning.

We'll leave from Engen Plattekloof, located in Plattekloof Village Shopping Centre (the normal meeting place) at 08h00 sharp.

Looking for Gravel

03/03/2018 – Looking for gravel

Seeing that we are planning a Lesotho trip in April the need to “get the Gravel legs out” had me looking at some local gravel routes on Saturday morning. As this was a very spur of the moment ride I was going to go solo.

I threw the Dustriders hoist on the back – just 4 in case!  Fortunately not needed on the day. Some ice-cold water in the top box and a energy bar if I needed that and the preparation was complete.

Members Choice "Mid Winter's" Ride - 23 June 2013

This was a very enjoyable relaxed ride.  The weather gods played their part and gave us good weather on Sunday between the rain on Saturday and today.

Seven riders on seven bikes pitched up at the Winelands One Stop on the N1 for coffee and breakfast at 07:30.  I already knew Bob Goode and Barry Hobson but Eric Pretorius, Llewellyn Truter, Derrick Geary, and Leon Silverfox (sorry Leon I don’t remember your surname) were new to me.

Breakfast was a leisurely affair while getting to know one another - we did not have far to travel and time was not an issue.
