Lazer and radar speed trapping devices

Lazer and radar trapping devices are accurate to very fine tolerances. This is evident in the very irritating toilet paper now arriving in droves in my letterbox. Somewhere thereon is either my or my wife's bike registration number followed by something like 70kph in a 60 zone or 92 in an 80 zone. What silly stupid joke is this??! On an open road! Riding at 60 is known as 'technical' riding, you need to concentrate on balance if you do not have training wheels. Hell as slow as 60 is skills challenge stuff! The penalty- R100.00. It costs more than that to process the dammned fine. and then I do nothing until some dude comes to me, identifies themself as an agent of the law and makes me sign for it. How crazy is this! Our City Mayor, the honerable Hellen Ziller recently berated Metro police service for setting traps on open roads telling them to place their permanent and their ad-hoc devices at areas where risk and fatality are prevalent. Trap the buggger thats being a danger not the commuter on the open road.! I have enough to wall paper my lounge now. At least I can prove I was in every danged dorp and street in the Western and Eastern Cape and can use them as an alibi if you don't believe I was in Bredasdorp or George, or Caledon, or Greyton, or Worcester. Hell you name it I'm getting proof I was there! Whats going on Is it just me!!!???????????

Take a leaf from The Geel Kameel. I'm going to bust my number palte at an angle to trash some digits, then have a new plate made and stick that in my tank bag. If n wehn I get stopped I'll say it happenned just now and I'm off to have the new one screwed on. But I sure don't need all the pink paper coming in my post box Andyman Yup that's me. Welcome to the club guys, as your Honourable President I say to you, you committed the crime nou Ka#$ en betaal. Like you I have a wad of these things in my in tray. Ou Geele has the right idea. If you ride the 1150 hard enough the exhaust gas is hot enough to distort the plate or just remove the plate and if stopped secure with Velcro. Just some ideas. Remember! He with the most speeding tickets @ the end of the year will be handed the presidency for the following year. Bum in the saddle, always.

Think before you ink.

Cheesy, I haven't yet ever paid and do not intend to. Exceeding the speed limit marginally is no indication of bad driving. Talking n a mobile phone, loose kids standing on the seats, no seat belts, unroadworthy vehicles. Spend there time nailing this idjots and we'll be getting somewhere. Andyman Yup that's me. We all complain about the excessive speed cameras, and those pesky officers hiding behind all sorts of places with cameras. We have all been caught at some or other time, are fed-up with authorities disregard for the real issues that affect safety on our roads. The we say, f-them I refuse to pay until they apply the law equally to all, Taxi’s operators can do what they like so why should carry the burden, I’m going to remove my number plate, etc. How about a new approach, if we all just slow down, obey the speed limits then the authorities will no longer get the income they expect and will forced to police the real issues. Just think about it for a moment, bearing in mind that for the most part the type of person who joins the traffic department is not likely to be a highly motivated individual, nothing drives them to work at reaching their quota so when they can just sit behind a bush what do you think they will do! Reverse psychology I think is the term… 2007 Dakar 2005 R1150R www.twowheels.co.za

Max, i get your point an to a degree I also concur. I'm one who strongly state's that if you flip your cig butt out the window, don't strp in your kids ior yourself, cross the solid line, creep over the line at traffic signals etc etc, talk on your mobile while operating a vehicle ---YOU ARE THE CRIME WAVE BOET!!! iT'S JUST A FEW DEGREES FURTHER TO GO FROM FLOWTING A REGULAITON TO STICKING A KNIFE INTO SOME ELSE FLESH. Both way are dis respecting law and order made to keep our communal society safe and liveble. So I dont; bitch about the crime wave. I dont speed, 120 on a bike is slow as is 60 in the respective zones. My bike has exceptional; acceleration an in an overtake its not uncommon to hit good speeds until passed the vehicle and then slow down. The metro police should as Ziller syas palce theiur devices at startegic danger zone and NAIL THE F&*%$#@S THAT ARE USING MY TAx money in the accident fund. Andyman Yup that's me. Andyman and others that collect fines for wallpaper, beware of road blocks, as should they check that you have out standing fines, they put you in the "back of the van" and could spend the night in a cell. Don't want to even go there! 1.Send fine back and ask them to identify ridder, as some has your plates on. 2.Register bike to a POBox adress. 3.Use as wallpaper..lolol

they can only put you in the van if you have outstanding warrants of arrest and they have the original warrant of arrest . they can hold you until somebody brings the original .Know your rights at times I ride faster than my guardian angle can fly

Flipper...knowing ones rights iss cool ,but the dudes in blue are sommer moetsvillig sometimes...and half the time they dont even understand the law.And use the force behind them....have you ever been at a road block on the n1 with the provincial cops.....on any sunday morning..they sommer de-moer-in coz they have to graft..so they are a difficult bunch.

Pulled over at a road block... So blou baaitjie asks for my liksensie. And disappears into a trailer and I phone My wife to tell her to start arranging bail etc etc. Bloubaaitjie returns , apoligises for the hold up and returns my liksens. I ask if all is ok as I "remember seen a camera flash in Stellenbosch" and he says, "Sorrie Mijnheer, die's is only for da Bellfil, we cannitie opchek daar by die steelenbos nie met die trailer se computa," I mean that's stoneage. I go to any Virgin active any where in SA and say I'm lost and confused, who am I, they Swipe my card and can tell me my life history, my weight, who I look at at the gym, and what I eat. They also tell me I'm too fat for my height. So hello, if there are compers can tell this info anywhere when are the law enforcers ever going to learn the law enforecement game- and thats after E Natis was up and running. Shoot, I'm not too worried about the warrant. They cannot detain you longer than 30 minutes without the warrant and they cannot hold you unless they have an orginal warrant. Andyman Yup that's me. Before you take off those plates!! The cops want a big bonus for this Christmas!!!!! All the major roads had roadblocks yesterday. Apparently they are planning more of these. Surprisingly, there were very few "Jap" bikes out yesterday. My neighbour (R1) told me about these roadblocks the day before it happened. :) Hogs 'n PigsHogs 'n Pigs A group of cruisers was pulled off just ahead of us. They all had their number plates on - the nize ones with thick letters and their names added at the bottom, ie illegal. You should have seen how busy those cops were while writing out all those fines.

Now look at the poor sod in the centre of the photo (and the guy just in front of him, 2 digits in the top layer and 4 in the bottom - this is not SABS standard - donation please!! The real racers, without plates, knew about this on Saturday and stayed at home. I would like to know if any bikes were impounded. (?)

Hey Padlangs, is this true about the 2 digits in the top and four on the bottom line being illegal? I have a new number with only one in the top and five on the bottom and it looks terrible. If my bike stands on the side stand it looks like all the numbers have slid to the bottom left hand corner! I wanted to have another plate made just to balance it out. Sorry, my mistake. I am not sure how many letters/numbers should be in each row. It is the "font" that is wrong on these plates. Have a look at at your legal plate and you will see the difference in font. A favourite is also to break the black border and write your name at the bottom, in small letters - donation please.

mmmm until they enforce road safety (fining for going over white lines and not using indicators when turning) I will continue to use my laserjammer (on all me vehicles and bike)and supply them to the public. The problem with a laser detector is that it only tells you that you have been fined.(if and a big if, it detects the new Prolaser) I jamm the koelte k@nte on a daily basis and have no regrets, and will never have. Like I said until they promote road safety I will defend myself. 1200 GS TLC 4.5 EFI www.gpsworld.co.za
