Archive of BMW Motorrad Club Cape (2006 - 2019)

I had promised the owners of [http://sunmountainfarm.co.za/ Sun Mountain] a bike trip up there. They have a cave (with ablutions, fire pit, benches, and stunning mountain view over the West Coast) for R40 pppn, and cottages from R130 pppn. The managers are a coloured and an indian woman, salt of the earth and worthy of support. The mountain is 1000m above sea level, has a 10km tweespoor uphill to the farm. There are tweespoors all over the farm with a natural dam for swimming, streams, hikes, bushman caves. There is also quite a lot of offroad riding just getting there, with the option of tar. In short, this is a nice place to bring family also. Pillions can park off in the cottages or under the trees by the dam, and riders can explore the mountain or surrounding areas. (Yes, I am selling this idea - the ladies need support, the farm is under-utilized, and the location is great - just above Aurora, which is between Piketberg and Veldrif.) By car from Muizenberg it is 2 hours' drive, longer if you take dirt roads.
