Annie has given us instructions to arrange another offroad training session for ladies only!  So John Carr and I rushed off to schedule it - don't want Anne giving us "THE LOOK" Smile

This will be Level 1 AND a Level 2 training on the same day similar to the last training session given by the club, which worked really well.

Ok Ok - Due to 1 or 2 unexpected cancellations, the fact that it is a long weekend, and also Bike Fest - I will allow 1 or 2 lady-friendly guys along Cool !  We are especially looking for more people to join the level 2 group.

Preliminary Arrangements as follows:

Date : Sunday 29 April 2012
Time : 08:30 till about 17:00
Venue : Meet at Donford's in Stellenbosch
Cost : R200 for the day.
Instructors : Pete O'Hanlon and John Carr (we may call on other instructors too depending on numbers)

Book on the forum below or let Anne know.  (Some people don't like their names being on the forum in which case we'll indicate you as being Lady1,2,3 just to indicate numbers.)

The BMW Club Fest in Grahamstown over that weekend then?  I am, along with Julie.  This is going to be a weekend to remember.  So, my advice is, if you absolutely cannot make the Bike Fest, console yourself by booking a training with these old codgers. (and watch out for the one with a limp Wink)

Thanks for the kind words Charles! Smile  We're struggling for dates I'm afraid, there are just so many activities and we want to try and catch the good weather.

Hey Pete,

Sandy is keen to come - can she bring her Honda CRF230F on the trailer and then train?

Sian I've provisionally put you on the level 2 list.  But please look at the course notes in the previous post and see where you think you'll fit in.  I think your Enduro career will help a lot, but you may just want to do Level 1 on your 650, to get the hang of woman-handling the bigger bike - and picking it up yourself without Trevor's help!  Let me know!  Cool

I am adding this on behalf of my mother who is not neer an internet connection at the moment.  She regrets to inform that she cannot join the training anymore.

Really sorry

Any other takers?  This is a wonderful opportunity Ladies!  If you're not busy over the long weekend, and are not at the Bike Fest, then here's a good way to have some fun and learn at the same time.

No need to fear - you can do the training on smaller bikes as well.  If you've already been to one of these training sessions, this will be good revision, and you could even join up with the Level 2 group, and bail out at any stage if you find the going gets too rough. Cool

If you've upgraded to a larger bike, then this is perfect to get to know your new bike.

If you are busy with this can I assume that Julie and I can have your share of the Jagermeister bottle at the Bike Fest?  Gonna have to find some more friends to share, 'cos I don't think Rusty and Gizzy will make it either, and I haven't even checked on Thilo and Deena.

Annie, if this is the same venue as last time then I would advise people to bring something along to eat. Last time I survived on water and a few fresh grapes but please don't tell the farmer. Sealed

Hi Charles

Pity I won't be with you guys this time but I am getting work in this weekend as well as the training because I need to take leave next week for a family wedding in Joburg.

Keep some Jagermeister for me for when you're back :-)

A big thank you to all ladies & gents attending yesterday's fantastic course and a SPECIAL big thanks to John Carr & Peter O'Hanlon for taking us all through our paces and beyond our comfort zones.

I'm now definitely more familiar with my bike than i was before.

Bridgette Edwards of Donford has taken a few photos and put them on Facebook:

A great training venue and instructors to match.  The sand patch was a treat.  It was my first time off-road with the 1200GS, and I particularly appreciated the low "threat level".  Thanks!
