I am really impressed with the new Hi3 lights recently installed on my F800GS. What is nice about them is that at 3000 lumen per light they shine really far - but what I like best is that they can "dim" - run at 15% which is good for night traffic riding, and the flashing mode is ideal for event marshaling. And they integrate seamlessly with the BMW light switch.

Please excuse my first try at a youtube video, but look here to see how they work. Kewl!

The Hi3 Bike Spots really impressed me last night. It was the first time I used the low, 15% function at night, and I was pleasantly surprized. The F800GS have orange covers over both dim and bright lights. The 3000 Lumen Spots lights up the road ahead at night, but previously on dim I could almost not see, with only orange light on the road.

With the Hi3's I can still use spots on dim, on the 15% setting. This still means 450 Lumen per light x2 or 900 combined Lumen, good enough to not irritate oncoming traffic, but bright enough to see where you are going. Kewl!
