Hamman outride avoid Cafe Felix

What a wonderful outride for the black-top guys, Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Franschoek, Worcester, Ceres then Riebeeck-Kasteel, the dustys apparently loved theirs too. Then disaster for all 28 bikes. Only 20 booked, the owner/manager says tough, the others can do without breakfast, for R40 you get one slice of home-made bread, some scrambled egg, a slice of tomato and cold coffee, after waiting about an hour. Chris Hamman was so embarassed he paid the whole bill and we left. How disgusting, by all means, please avoid in future. 11

Thnx for letting us know William. I cannot comment on the details as I was not there - maybe we should speak to a local, TvN you live out there - your opinion? JohandeJager It takes more love to share the saddle than it does to share the bed. I'm the guy that'll be sneaking out of the bedroom at three o'clock in the morning to look at my bike.

Perhaps we need to at least attempt to see their point as well...booking for 20 with 28 bikes rocking up (resulting in about 35 or so people). No wonder they were a bit out of their depth! I have to applaud them for their effort as well as the great music! It was a lot of fun and the company was great. Pity I couldn’t join the ride but the broad smiles of those who did, said it all! Great bunch of people!

Where you there? Did you hear the comments? Excuse me, R40 for a slice of bread and scrambelled egg. No excuse, they were told an hour earlier about extra people. We waited more than half an hour for a R10 glass of coke poured from a 2litre bottle that they had to go and buy from the cafe. Is it so difficult making scrambelled eggs for ten extra people? At R40 each? I cannot believe your post, do you have shares in that horrendous place? We waited almost 30 minutes for the first cup of coffee. Great music? What geat music? Some guy trying to promote himself? To take our minds off the wait, I have never been to a breakfast as pathetic as this.

I was there yes, and didn't thought it to be that bad. Sorry you had a horrible time. At least you had a good ride :)

TvN Just curious, Did you have breakfast? One slice of bread and egg? Did you think it was worth R40? Would you pay R40 again for the same? Did you pay Chris back or let him pay for you? Some people did not even have breakfast and Chris paid

Didn't have breakfast as I joined on short notice. I guess R40 is too much for a slice of bread and egg...especially for a bunch of hungry bikers!

The off road ride was cool.... But I agree with William the service was poor and WAY over priced! Chris paid for 32 people only about 20 people actually got breakfast. I had a soggy croissant with scramble egg and one slice of tomato. We all thought they would bring some bacon or something but NOTHING came :-) The pictures I took... http://corne.ygm.co.za/#080224-hamman_outride_24Feb2008 Corné Kloppers 0849130391 ckloppers@gmail.com

It's a great venue... they just weren't prepared for us. And I don't think it's because of the extra 12 riders. PS. They had a real Felix cat :-) A fat black cat! I wanted to take a picture of him but the bikes scared him a bit :-) Corné Kloppers 0849130391 ckloppers@gmail.com

Charles - we stopped in Riebeek Kasteel on the orange route in Nelson's Creek - that was not a bad spot?? Corne - You were there with us....? That was a cool place... The one with the swimming pool? What was it called? The staff was very friendly and they where more than willing in giving me ice for my CamelBaK :-) PS.
