Hi all to all the experts out there

my BMW battery, after about 4 years or so packed up. I’d like to buy a new one but Donford quoted R3500.00

Being technically/electronically challenged to say the least, is there an alternative battery that has the same specs but more affordable you can recommend, and where can I buy one please.

There is a sticker on my battery that says replace with an AGM battery with Polarity 1 and it’s a 12v, 12Ah 200A.

please help!

thanks

Buying alternative batteries is going to bite you 3 months down the line, maybe 6

Stick to BMW

Been there, done that, have  tattoos, T shirt, nipple ring etc

I have previously used a Yuasa/Toplite or Motobatt equivalent bought from Trac-Mac.

The Yuasa and Motobatt websites have search features to find the equivalent battery for most motorcycles.

BMW doesn't actually manufacture batteries.  They take a particular high-quality brand of battery and "re-brand" it.  If you can find out what that brand is, you can buy it directly at a fraction of the BMW-branded one, and you will have exactly the same battery.

Another example:  The BMW GS boots are actually Forma adventure boots.

You could try DelTec in Paarden Eiland.

They have all kinds of batteries.
