Sorry no photos yet from me, Annie will post, I'll then delete this sentence.

Well done to all,

Thanks to Nelsons Creek Winery for the fantastic venue, excellent catering and huge wide open spaces, so close to "Big Lights".

The Country Trax team for  a well run day, good organisation, helpful, prepared and well cleaned up at the end of the day. Helpers who guided us to our places, kept us hydrated and manned the refreshments gazebo.

Thanks to Gideon Nel our day medic, whose presence and gear  was really comforting to have on site,

Thanks to Andre Ooosthuisen and his cameras, your passion for photography and bikes exudes from you all the time, looking forward to the photos.

Thanks to BMW Motorrad teams from Donfords Stellies n Cpt, who made the effort to to come show face, show interest, give support.

But biggest thanks to the 14 other competitors, I made new friends, learned so much!!

Thanks guys for the teamwork, camaraderie and advice.

Thanks to my friends who persuaded me to invest R1500 in entering this regional qualifier.

You learn so  so much by taking part in these events.

Yes, I was weighed, I was measured, and I was found wanting., But, on 10th July, I will muster on time at Klpbokkop for the Country Trax three day Intermediary training in off road techniques.

Did I have fun?  you Betcha!!

Did I learn a lot??  You Betcha!!

Was it with the investment?  Yes, and then some.

I really enjoy my biking and I love my grade 4 rides and technical sections on tours.  But I have not been challenged in such tight confines like this type of competition tests you. It is different type of test of skills.

Then lastly, I want to thank all the spectators for their support of this event.

Your cheers, shouts, laughter, active engagement is really appreciated.

You were all great, thanks for turning out.

And the top three riders going to Amersvoort in September are:

1 Byron Coetsee  R1200GS

2  Dirk Roets  R1200GS Adventure

3 Charl Moolman  R1200GS Adventure

Do you have the results?

I was bleak I am not able to ride and would certainly have taken part in this - just for the fun and experience.  My very first "trial" was the competition of a similar nature at Nelson's Creek in about 2009.  I was on Brenda Buttercup at the time.  You were there too I think, though I only remember you at the second one where we had to cross the river/ditch.

I was at the second one Charles and the Bikefest in Goudini.

I did well in all those, and especially well in the pillion course.

But this was several notches higher and the list of riders and skills was daunting.

Another testimony was the safety record.

Despite, wet grass, loose soil, mud and stiff competition, no one let this allow them to get hurt.

The winner was the only side-stand incident, on exercise 1.

One person let his finger get between the stanchion and the wheel spacer which shed a few drops of precious blood.  But Gideon was close by and quickly sorted him out.
