GS Trophy 2019 Qualifier - Western Cape
The Western Cape qualifier for the GS Trophy 2019 will be held at Anura on 16th March 2019.
The GS Trophy regionals are one of the highlights at the annual BMW GS Trophy SA event. Each region is represented by three riders who compete in a series of skill challenges. The first step in this journey is to participate in the regional qualifier. Last year we had a very strong team present at the GS Trophy SA event, Montagu. We hope to see some of the familiar and competitive faces again.
The course is designed to minimize damage to your motorcycle and risk of injury to the rider.
The skills tested are based on the intermediate-level training, so come along and take part - for the fun of it and for the great experience.
We encourage ladies to participate in this event, too.
The entry fee will be R1 000 per participant. Bookings are now open !!

If you haven't been to Anura, it is a great venue for riding, or spectating, or just relaxing and having a meal or refreshments. Spectators are welcome to join and support the riders and get a taste of what the GS Trophy is all about. No entrance fee for spectators.
We will have motorcycle related and food stalls, music and lots of fun on the day.
We encourage riders to register asap. Several training days will be hosted:
- The club training team can accommodate the participants on 17 Feb 2019 at Anura. Please be in contact with John Carr 021 888 4260.

The GS Trophy WC committee committed themselves to assist with rider trainings to have the participants well prepared.
We also committed ourselves to arrange a fundraising event to support the GS Trophy Team WC to attend the GS Trophy SA event. More details will follow.

Join in a fun day with like-minded adventure bike riders/enthusiasts. Encourage and support the participants while they will be entertaining us with their GS skills.
Entrance FREE for spectators. Bring the family and your friends. Welcome to arrive on your motorcycle or any other vehicle. Parking will be sufficient at the course close to the restaurant area.
Anura will cater for the spectators on the following eats and drinks:
- Boerie rolls: R35.00 + slap chips R45.00

- Slap chips only R25.00

The GS Trophy regional finals are one of the highlights at the annual BMW GS Trophy SA event.
Each region is represented by three riders who compete in a series of skill challenges. The team takes part at GS Trophy South Africa for prizes and most of all… bragging rights for a year.
Riders who represent their regions at GS Trophy South Africa 2019, earn the opportunity to enter the national qualifier skills challenges at the event. Here, riders from all regions will compete individually for a place in the top three. The three best riders from the national qualifier will represent South Africa in a mission to defend the title (again!) at the International GS Trophy in 2020 (New Zealand).
The first step in the journey is to participate in a regional qualifier. Country TRAX, BMW Motorrad Club of the Western Cape and Donford Motorrad will jointly host the regional qualifier for the Western Cape at Anura Vineyards (Klapmuts) on 16 March 2019. The regional qualifier will consist of a series of exercises that test bike control, course management and the riders' ability to maintain focus.
You participate at your own risk, but we take great care to host regional qualifiers that are as safe as possible - for both rider and motorcycle. Participation in the regional qualifiers is the first step in a journey and we try to keep it accessible to all GS riders. The course is therefore designed to minimise damage to your motorcycle and risk of injury to rider.
We encourage ladies to participate in this event, too. The Ladies will be scored separately.
Spectators are welcome to come join and support the riders and get a taste of what the GS Trophy is all about. Please diarise!! We will have motorcycle related & food stalls on the day.
