I hope that I will one day get the budgetary authority to procure a GPS for my GS. At this stage, the financial manager in the household is of the opinion that my map reading skills isn’t too bad! However, I see that they advertised a Zumo 660 as a "motorcycle-friendly navigator ... built to lead you on all of your two-wheeled adventures". Has the 550 been replaced by the 660? At R7990 it is much better priced that the 550. http://www.gps4africa.co.za/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=...
The ride is the destination.

Hi Abel, 1) The Zumo 500 & 550 has been discontinued & replaced by the Zumo 660. Yes it is the "bikers" GPS. 2) I would suggest you buy it locally from a dealer to ensure that you have close back up. 3) Chris Boltman one of our members based here in CT sells Garmin GPS's and has them for the same price and for immediate collection. Chris will also help you with all the set ups etc. Give him a call on 0824437054

Abel I can also recommend Chris Boltman. By the time you pick up your unit, you just switch it on and use it - all done for you.
