GoPro mounts

Hello all,

I have a poser for my first post. Has anybody made any customised GoPro mounts or found anything to buy which will mount to the frame/crashbars/bike rather than on a helmet or chest?

I made something for my MTB and prefer the viewing angle it gives, meaning that you see only the road or view ahead rather than your hands or arms or any part of the bike.

Cheers

Have you looked at RAM mounts. They do GoPro adapters as well.

Available from various supplies in SA.

Yes I have a RAM mount which sticks onto the inside of a windscreen but want something to attach outside. Also looking for suggestions about where to mount. I don't want to put a sticky GoPro mount on the beak like I have seen some do.

I had Rock Fox make me a bracket for my 1200GS (air cooled) that fits behind the the right hand side front indicator. You can have it for R100 if it will work for you.

RAM makes mounts other than stick on - clamps etc. Go their website and see.

I have toyed around with various mounts but found that the helmet's chin mount produces the smoothest footage (without using a gimble).

This is a list of things I tested (all GoPro Hero 5):

  • BMW F800R handle mounted: https://youtu.be/Ae-lgtH-Fw4
  • BMW R1200GSA fairing mounted (gravel): https://youtu.be/IHRuM8VJBUA
  • BMW R1200GSA fairing mounted (road): https://youtu.be/VVYJH1DoN9w
  • BMW R1200GSA chin mounted (gravel): https://youtu.be/J53J2ADRGL8
