Ganzekraal resort - theft warning

Spent the weekend at Ganzekraal which is just west of Atlantis on the West Coast and would just like to warn anyone wishing to stay there that theft is rife, we were one of the chalets burgeled in broad daylight while on a walk about, cell phone and my brand new GPS Nuvi 760 was stolen. The authorities "not again", "happens all the time" attitude did not go well with me, you could have told us that when we arrived. Thus if you have planned to stay there, be extra vigilant or better yet don't go, these resorts need to feel it in the pocket before they will jack up security.

Sorry to hear about your loss.
I used to go to Ganzekraal often - camping.
Two downers: During & after school holidays the place is FILTHY, litter everywhere & the place is not bike friendly (no bikes allowed through the gate).

Lovely for camping and has/had a great conference facility. I was part of numerous 4x4 launches at the "lapa"!
Unfortunately the place has been discovered by "other" elements and has been in decline ever since.
Unfortunately I doubt they are capable of stopping the rot!!!
