The BMW M/C Club invites you on our first West Coast Tour of 2008 from 14-16th June '08. This trip has always been the most popular tour we arrange so you will need to book early to avoid disappointment! The plan for this trip is an early departure on the Saturday morning from CT and head towards Citrusdal then towards Klawer via some dirt sections. From Klawer we would head to Van Rhynsdorp for lunch (own expense) then towards Bitterfontein then via the back roads to Kotzesrus and from here to the coast and to Silwerdoos, arriving late afternoon. Silwerdoos or Jurg se Kaya, is a very rustic cabin right on the beach and has basic facilities such as, shower, toilet, undercover braai/entertainment area, and lots of mattresses that we put in the outbuildings to sleep on. It can accommodate 22 people. Take your own sleeping bag and pillow, that goes with your bag in the back up vehicle. The trip is "catered" including, Saturday dinner, Sunday breakfast and dinner and Monday breakfast. The breakfast is very basic being cofee rusks & Weet Bix. After an evening of serious west coast hospitality we will awake to to the sounds of the sea and breakfast on the beach, not too early mind you. On Sunday you have a few choices. The really energetic can ride all the way up to Groen Rivier and the white squatter camp along the soft "twee spoor" sand track. A distance of about 40kms. The less energetic can take a less difficult ride with me by road to Groen Rivier. A distance of about 110kms. We would then meet up there and take a ride through to Garies for lunch (own expense) then back to our cottage. Sunday night we will again enjoy the West Coast hospitality and drinks on the beach. Monday breakfast, then all the way along the sand road to Koekenaap then home via Strandfontein, Lamberts, Elands, Velddrift and the R27 filling up in Langebaan. We would stop on our way for lunch (own expense). The costs will be R650.00 per person all in including a contribution to the back up vehicle/drivers expenses. Dates : 14-16th June 08. 22 people can be accommodated. Pillions welcome! Who is invited? All BMW GS owners. We have a pre trip get together at my house in Bothasig about 2 weeks prior to departure. Riding ability : Except for the sand the riding is dirt roads, however there is quite a bit of soft two track sand to be ridden Interested?
