After a 12+ months absence, Continental TKC 80's have finally made a much-awaited return to South Africa...

We received around 55 tires from the 1st container into stock, and this is what is currently available:

UPDATE: we do have the 170/60/17's in stock after all!
90/90/21 x 20
100/90/19 x 5
110/80/19 x 10
140/80/17 x 5
140/80/18 x 5
150/7017 x 10

If it is not shown above, we do not have stock of it - we ordered a little more than this, but some products only arriving in DECEMBER container, when additional products, will arrive.

150/70/18's and 120/60/19 in the NEXT container....

Prices on request,; we will price them later this morning.

Questions: give us a call!
Cheers

Popped in to Flying Brick today and as always was good to catch up with Chris and the Team.

Also great to see that Chris has made various positive additions to his shop to make the customers experience more pleasurable.

And plenty TKC 80 tyres available ..........

I also saw some TKC 70 Tyres which I had never seen before..........might be just what those "not so serious" off road riders may need.

Maybe I should get a set to test on the upcoming Transkei Tour.

R600 more at your store than anywhere else though?

Excellent Service, once again, from Chris and his team at Flying Brick. Ordered and paid for my TKC 80's and within 10 minutes was notified that my tires would be dropped at Donfords, Cape Town by 4:30 this afternoon.

Thanks Chris, Jan. Much appreciated and highly recommended.

Hi - that would surprise me, since we add a LOWER margin than MOST other stores, can you elaborate on where you have seen them for less (the TKC 80's or TKC 70's?)

I take pricing seriously, so would love to know.

I have rung the importer for comparative pricing, and will post the result here - I take this very seriously indeed, and we are known for being an affordable accessory Store.

'than anywhere else' - please elaborate?

thanks

Chris

Yes, you are correct, thanks for taking the time to take my call.

We got our pricing - on the just-arrived Continental tyres - WRONG, and we were close to R600 more than Trac Mac Paarden Eiland on the tyre in question...

In our rush to price these tyres on Wednesday, we used the wrong calculation: we have a modest mark-up (A) on all regular items; think crash bars, helmets, luggage, etc, then we have a LOWER mark-up (B) on consumables, such as TYRES and, in the future, lubricants, etc and this markup is a fair bit lower.

Since TKC's are in any case a little more expensive than say MITAS and Hiedenau in any case, this slipped past me....

Today we will re-price ALL the Continental tyres, lower, obviously, and I will encourage scrutiny/critical comment on our tyre prices.

I have also rung a mentor - Conrad/Offroad Cycles, in Pretoria last night, and he, as the largest individual purchaser of Continental tyres in the country - has given me guideline pricing at his lower margin, also as a consumable, he marks up tyres by a lower margin.

Thanks for your continued support.

Morning Chris

Does this mean I qualify for a rebate on my purchase?

very much so, we will write to you, and we offered one customer in-store 10% of HIS tyre yesterday - but awaiting bookkeeper at 9am, since she will run the numbers in Pastel, etc.

Cheers

Well done Chris.

Takes big cahoonas to admit you slipped up but I would have expected nothing less from you.

It's no wonder flying brick is such a success story.

And if Chris doesn't have stock, but the importer has warehouse stock in Cape Town, it can be delivered within the hour usually, faster than Debonairs laugh.

Hi Chris/Jan

Thank you for the cool discount. Do you have crash bar bags for my bike in stock. I see the crash bar bags on your website are about the same price as my discount?

Where can I find TKC70  for R1200GSA pls?

And not a rip off price.

We stock TKC70 tyres, in addition to the TKC 80's....

We do not do rip-off pricing - we charge a modest margin, and stock a WIDE variety of brands, a WIDE variety of models (say TKC 80 a-n-d TKC 70's...) and a WIDE variety of sizes, so the moment you walk in we USUALLY have ALL the sizes in the stock...

Cheers
