Hi all,

So after my weekend trip in the west coast I realized that my one shock is leaking (presume its the seals).

Now its obvious to get them replaced (seals), however I'm that type of person that instead of just replacing something I try and do a upgrade.

While work is being done to the front shocks, can anyone suggest some upgrades that can be done to them perhaps? Also please try and include whom and pricing can do upgrade.

Thanks.

Friend of mine just had Donald/Dux on Wilddog forum do his 650's front fork seals.

Price was around R1200. You can lspeak to Donald about uprated springs or thicker oil.

Standard springs on an F650GS are far harder than they should be (even for a standard-weight rider) at roughly 6Nm. Compare this to the admittedly too squashy front forks of the earlier 800GS at about 4.5Nm. I was advised against progressive springs in my case, because I am quite light and they would still be a bit too stiff for me (I would hardly use their full travel). I got softer springs (think it's 5Nm) and it was the biggest comfort change I could ever make for my bike. But perhaps progressive springs will work for you? I went to Superfoxi from Wild Dog Forum (Mike Fuchs). He specialises in suspension and is based in Capri, deep southern suburbs. I'll PM his number if you're interested.

You can also speak to Jandré of JK works.

He seems to specialise in shocks.

He is a advertiser on this forum.
