1 - i have a 2005/2006 gs1200 with  a stock standard exhaust. As you probably know these exhausts are very quiet. I would like to know if there is a way of making these exhausts louder,  without spending a fortune on an upgraded exhaust. Im really just after a better sound than performance. maybe one can open up the exhaust and take out some of the padding? did this on a previous superbike and it worked, not sure if bmws ar erthe same.

2 -  otherwise anyone know who can de-cat and de-baffle the exhaust in CT?

Thanks

Hi, did my decat on my 2006 GS at a exhaust shop somewhere close to Lakeside. Probably Speedy exhaust shop on the main road - not sure. Then also put on an Scorch Box. Guys are very helpful (they could also maybe decat yours. had a basic exhaust box put on. No fancy cone at the back, then also had no decal put on. Non-descript. Nice sound but not overpowering. (used to have a Two Brothers on - now that was loud!).

yes, the old Scorch, now Beserker Exhausts, have the jig enabling them to bend up/manufacture the Y-pice for your particular bike, if you wish to go that route.

I-F you go that route, then consider first listen to silencer after CAT removal, THEN decide if you want a slip on in addition - just be aware, Scorch/Beserker can be on the 'loud side'; i think they still have a disclaimer up that they build loud silencers, etc~

Cheers

Chris
