I'd like some feedback and comment on what you reckon it costs to operate a bike. You know, ala AA's costs per kilo. I ride an 1150GSA and I calculate it costs R1.94/km to operate. I'm happy to share my excel sheet with the calculations, drop me a PM with your mail addy. So far for September I have done 2832km. So say at R 1.90 per kilometre, it has cost me R 5 380.80 to operate this month. @ 16km/litre that's 177 litres fuel used @ ±R6.70/litre round off to R 1200.00 for fuel, take off the bank payment & insurance it leaves a rounded figure of R 1 000.00 I should be setting aside each and every month to cover my services, tyres and smaller costs. How does this scan with what you have calculated? Remember I'm the lover in the family, not the accountant so I'm open to correction.
