Hi I would like to connect my spots to my ignition with an off on switch so that when my 1200gs 2007 is switched off it cuts all power.Would this affect any of my electronics if I draw power there from the ignition.Which colour is the power best to use.

Easiest thing to do is connect your earth to the battery and get your 12v off a headlight wire.use a splice connector.so it will have sufficient power and wont rob anything from headlight.

What about others who might like to know the answer to this question?  We cannot read the PM.

'cos the recipe differs from bike to bike so I talked them through the R1200GS post 2005, pre 2013.

You can run LED spots directly off the wires feeding the brights globe. Spots will shine when Brights are on. With a seperate switch you need a relay. Use the parking light feed as relay actuator and use seperate handlebar switch to turn spots on and off (when ignition is on).
