As a club we have chosen this project to be the beneficiary of our charity.  The main reason for this choice is that it reaches the small facilities that do not receive gifts from larger charities.

The other reason is that Cindy Pieters is sourcing those little scooters that kids love.

Detail

Thank you so much for the support you have given to this project, it means the world.

This project was intended to be small, but people were so glad for what I am doing for children who can't raise their own voice and ask for themselves. I have been the one asking / begging on their behalf, but I don't mind, as I know why I am doing this, for the children, no matter what race, it is a child, and every child has the right to know that they are loved, they belong, and that they are not forgotten. God has already blessed our project that I am in position to already give 550 abandoned children a beautiful Christmas gift. This was new to me, and only now when I started to work with the social workers, I realized the GREAT GREAT need out there that is right under our noses.

We still have about 50 tins we can sponsor, but I saw a big opportunity to make toddlers very happy (age 2 - 5) - they all love scooters. So in some of the camps where families are living, I want to give the children a scooter, the tins that I have made up for them, I can then use to bless more children. For the same pledge of R120 per child, the kids will get a scooter, with a ball attached to it, and 2 age appropriate toys tied to it. The purchase price of the scooter costs R119 and is selling @ R189, they are very durable virgin plastic scooters.

Then still adding a ball and 2 toys, we are looking at a gift worth R250. I have 50 scooters that the Factory toy shop made available to me, that I would love to get support on from BMW club, as it being a "bike", and I will even put a BMW sticker on it.

Furthermore, and this is my passion and weakness - at Woodside Special Care Centre is a residential home caring for 80 profoundly intellectually and physically disabled residents and is situated in Rondebosch East, Cape Town, South Africa. Since its inception in 1976 Woodside has worked diligently towards building a home of safety and security for its residents, all of whom require specialised care and who are unable to remain within their family units.

The young "adults" there, are actually still children. Now this is for such an institute that the big teddy's will work brilliantly.

I read their entire website and look at what the physio's do with them. They do water therapy to stimulate and relax their limbs.

And I see for indoor stimulation they build puzzles and blocks with them. My heart broke when I saw these kids. 19 Children in this home are totally abandoned.

This is but one of the charities that your donations will be supporting: http://www.woodside.org.za/our-services/#children_activities

Now this is powerful work that they do with extreme special needs children.

For these children I want to give each a huge teddy that is worth over R200, so that for those who are bedridden, they have "someone" next to them, to feel comforted and have a soother. Furthermore I will also donate puzzles etc, and water therapy items that they need to help stimulate this children. But a tin full of toys will not be appropriate for them, their needs are different, but the pledge still remains the same for these children to - R120 pledge. If your club would be able to assist us with this, I will make this a donation from the BMW Cape Town Bikers club.

So in essence, I still need to get 130 x R120 pledges, which I know that God will lead me in achieving this, just as he has helped with the rest. Op my Facebook blad word die projek ook versprei: Cindy Jones - https://www.facebook.com/cindy.heerschappietersjones (julle wat Voortrekker weg nou goed ken, sal weet van die Factory Toy Shop wat al die jare nog daar sit).

Thankful Love in abundance, Cindy Pieters Jones

We pledge 3 x R120, which is less than R1 for every day of the year, so really affordable.

Well done on the work you do; it is appreciated!

Ok, since the club is matching our tin donations, I have paid my monies into the club account and they will pay double to the charity.  You have until end of day tomorrow to make a huge difference in the life of a forgotten child.

No worries, just pop David Ffoukes an email to let him know about your donation and he will match it from the club's side.
