Ladies and gents,

it seems like COMESA is no longer in use, so i figured that each country might require you to purchase 3rd party insurance at the border.

am i off my marker by a long shot? I am going typical route: Nam, Zam, Mal, Tan, Rwa, Uga, Ken, Eth, Sud, Egy...

could anyone confirm/comment or otherwise shed some light on insurance along the way?

Another question is - anyone actually purchased travel insurance that may/may not included medical evacuation etc? Would love to know who you used?
AA in South africa offer one, but i need to spend some time reading fine print first.
I've looked at Atlas and got a quote for 6months that is somewhat reasonable (about 90usd/month)

would love some help here if anyone is able.

thank you in advance

Horizons Unlimited may be a useful resource for you/good place to ask these questions; it is regarded as the go-to place to understand Carnet requirements, visa requirements, etc, including for Africa:

Hi Sweetrolls,

Some of the info I collected & captured for Aforika may be useful to you.
