I can't sleep...got up to look at my old bike again and started to clean her, pretty pointless as it's going to rain tomorrow. Sorry John you're going to get her all dirty, but hot. OK, this is it, I'm going to bed, NOW. Goodnight Donald

I saw your bike at Donford when they prepped it, bleddie mooi wit. New colour, steeds bleddie mooi. I think you should just stay awake, no, maybe don't, someone might just steal your dream...... I saw it when I nearly traded my 1200RT in on a new Platinum Silver RT. If only they did not have to charge that damn battery for 8 hours I would have been on my way to Plett 2 hours later on a Silver in stead of my Grey RT. Now I'm in Mafikeng for a week en my bike is in Somerset-Wes. Shaiks, ek ly aan ontrekking simtome. Even washed my bike before saying goodbye for a short while.. 06 1200RT 28500km Don't waste space - live on the edge

A dream come true........ Collected the GSA from Donford this afternoon. Firstly, thanks to the staff for their efforts, top notch! So similar but so different, the ride and feel between the GS and GSA. Firstly it was furnished with almost every conceivable option, tank bag (my GS one doesn't fit properly), top box, paniers etc, etc, which made the bike wider and heavier as it came with 33 liters in the tank, compliments of Donford, knobbly tyres - strange feeling, don't know if I trust a quarter ton bike on knobblies yet, a bit 'squirmy'. I will adjust for now, but will put Anarky's on after the GAGSC. So realy, not comparing apples with apples.....extra weight, extra width, knobblies..... Lovely sound, a bit deeper and a bit louder than the GS - Flipper, if you read this, I know you will have a little laugh inside, but it is still standard. After only 69 k's (good number)from Donford to my house in Glencairn, Im am still a little tense, I'd hate to do something stupid this soon. Too few K's under the belt to have an opinion/outcome, but yes, the feeling was great. Thanks to the well wishers. Sorry, like to tell you more, but got to go to bed and read the manuals - one for every option and then the Owners manual! Good night Donald

Well done Donald!!! It's great to see someone get so excited about a new bike.... I thought I might be the only one. I was so ecxcited when I evovled to the pinnacle of BMW excellence and maneged to get a used 1150GSA - also came with screen extension, panniers, top box, Autocom and Tank bag. Its 22kg heavier than your R1200GSA and with knobblies I got used to it in no time and provided I don't jaag over 150 clicks in the hour they wear ok. BUT...DONALD, what use is all this incredible investment of yours if you do not USE IT OFF THE TAR ROAD. Take it off road and use it for overnighters and long trips so you can really get to grips with the bike. Sorry BMW could not keep up the power take-off nodes and the 'donkie rat' 1st gear when they developed the 1200GSA's but it was too expensive and they had to make it 22 kilos weaker so their repir shops could earn some revenue. After you've learnt to ride your 1200GSA don't ever get onto a 1150GS or GSA you won't like your bike after that ever again. Nevetheless yours is bigger than mine and its a good ride. See you on the dirt, ... I remember nearly buying your GS back in January. So RTFM, its always a good thing and enjoy! Andyman I am become what those who have influenced my development , have made me. A work-in-progress.
