Breaking News

Husqvarna have just announced that they have entered into an agreement with BMW South Africa to take over the importing of BMW GS range of motorcycles. Husqvarna feel that by combining the GS range with their racing background they can grow the off road market. All BMW road models remain unchanged of the foreseeable future.

Changes to the GS range will include magnesium rims only on all R1200GS models and normal dual purpose tyres for the adventures.

Hi Dave

Does this mean that the motorrad dealers will stop supplying GS's?  Or what?

What about services and support etc?  Would this come from Husqvarna or from Motorrad, or both?

And road bikes - I presume these will continue to be supplied from Motorrad?  But since we struggle to sell even one roadbike for every two GS's this seems like a bad deal for Motorrad.

No wonder Dave has a smirk in his photo Smile

I can't say I was upset - wouldn't mind a Husky in my stable when I grow up...

Who are the Husky dealers in Cape Town, Strech @ Eurobike?

Mag wheels for off road? Will one still be able to order a G S with spoke wheels?  What about the Brazillian 650 GS single, will they be imported?

We certainly live in a changing world.
