Breakfast Ride 19 August 2018 – Botrivier Hotel

You are welcome to join us for a Breakfast ride to Botrivier Hotel!

PLEASE NOTE:

We will be meeting at Donford Motorrad Stellenbosch (https://goo.gl/maps/gGfeeSBLJRu) at 08h00 to depart at 08h30 - Thank you to John Carr and the team at Donford for their hospitality!

Our route to Botrivier will take us via Helshoogte Pass and Franschoek Pass. We will be going past Theewaterskloof Dam to ascertain for ourselves to what extent the recent rainfall has brought relief from the drought.

Distance: 111km

We will be having breakfast (at your own expense) at the Botrivier Hotel, where two menu options will be available:

English breakfast @ R58:

(2 eggs, 2 bacon, hash brown, mushrooms, beef sausage, tomato, 2 slices of toast.  A cup of coffee, tea or juice is also included)

Early Riser @ R45:

(1 egg, 1 bacon, hash brown, mushrooms, beef sausage, tomato, 2 slices of toast.  A cup of coffee, tea or juice is also included)

After breakfast, as per usual, everyone is free to return home at their own leisure and pace as they deem fit.

For those wanting to stick to a group, three possible route options are suggested:

Return option 1 – Bit of Gravel and passes:

Leave Botrivier via the Van der Stel Pass (gravel), and hop onto the tarred R321, returning to the N2 at Grabouw via Viljoens Pass.

Return option 2 – Scenic Coastal:

Take the scenic coastal route back from Botrivier via Kleinmond, Bettiesbaai, Rooiels, the beautiful Clarence Drive and Gordon’s Bay.

Return option 3 – As fast as possible:

Imagine the distress of realising that it is your late great-grandmothers birthday, just as you are taking your last sip of coffee or bite of toast, and that you have to get back to Cape Town at the speed of a rat leaving a sewer… Then this might be the route for you
