Are these gloves worth their price? I am looking for decent waterproof gloves that will last me more than 1 season, and keep my fingers dry, even in a heavy downpour. What gloves do you have that keep you dry, and where did you buy them from, and price if you can remember.

I do own a pair of BMW gloves, different range though (the one with the wiper blade ... ) Most leather gloves will cope with a "down pour". Riding in rain for a few hours to Sutherland (or where ever), most leather gloves will get "water logged". BUT the cheapies will stain your hands with the dye that was used to make the gloves black - I have seen people walk around with stained hands for a few days already. Same trip my BMW gloves did NOT stain me ....

I had a good look at the BMW Atlantis 2 gloves and for R1400 I don't think so, they also don't have enough or NO protection IMO. ZERO protection on impact areas. I bought the LookWell Air-Pro gloves for R700. Completely waterproof and with far better protection compared to the BMW Atlantis gloves. http://www.lookwellusa.com/gloves_airpro.html I don't have a car so I ride my bike everyday and with all the rain recently I must say the money I spent on the BMW Pro Rain2 suit and these Lookwell gloves, it was well worth it. Not once did I get wet/cold hands or "nat-bal" :-) Regards, Corné

Dankie Padlangs I do not mind if the leather gets wet, as long as my fingers stay dry, or is this not the case? Do they not have some sort of waterproof inner layer that is suppose to keep you dry?

I am also commuting everyday (110km's) so I would like to get gloves that will give me good protection, and keep my hands warm and dry. R700 is not a bad price. Where did you buy them Corne?

Garden gloves In December I went on a Swaziland trip from Gauteng with the BMW Club Central, and on the trip back, we had rain almost all the way back to Gauteng. My answer for keeping my leather gloves dry - a pair of Garden Gloves - I bought these gloves about 2 sizes bigger than my normal gloves. They don't look at all sexy, but they serve the purpose, kept my leather gloves dry. COST, I think under R40. When going away on a trip, I pack in my rainsuit and these gloves.

The Atlantis 2 gloves are a bit pricey but worth it they are completely waterproof because of the Gore-Tex liner, the Lookwell gloves are also good but hope you never have a warranty claim with them

Chris, I hope you never have a warranty claim with your BMW gloves. I will never ever buy a BMW accessory after the experience I had with a warranty claim on a visor. Not only did the dealer handle it very unprofessional, but also BMW was not helpful at all. I actually wanted to start a new subject warranty claims on the forum, but I might end up using foul language so I put it on hold. www.wode.co.za

In the days of my youth with min money that is exactely what we did, garden gloves over those hand knitted gloves, or plastic bags over the mittens, no protection against the fall but then again in those days we were infallible. Ignore opinions, heed facts. Think before you ink.

It always interests me that people can have such different experiences! I am extremely impressed with my treatment by AutoAtlantic. I'm wearing my 3rd Boulder jacket after problems with zips, my second visor after a small crack appeared next to the lift handle screw, my second saddle after my first one tore on the bead, new steering head bearing, new swing arm bearing, new idler and not a hint of a hassle with any claim, once the problem was confirmed as being a defect. I've been so impressed, it's a pity yours was the opposite Wolf. ''If you can dream it you can do it!''
