Trapped in the valley where the temporary bridge washed away in a flash flood.

We took 14 4x4's and 1 motorcycle to complete the Ben 10 last (long) weekend. Unusually heavy rain in the area created conditions that were difficult and often dangerous. The biker (Francois) on a BMW 1200 GSA had a particularly rough time on Bastervoetpad and we had to get him into a vehicle and recover his bike the next day. The descent of Bastervoetpad was ridiculously muddy with the steepest sections seeing the 4x4's sliding uncontrollably for up to 50 metres at a time. It must have been insane on a bike.

At one stage on Bastervoetpad on Friday, we counted 28 vehicles backed up behind a Land Rover which had lost 2 tyres due to sidewall cuts. Getting past was impossible, so many folk pitched in to get the LR mobile again - which was the end of his day, as he had to return to Elliot to replace the tyres. Take the link and read the summary of the challenge and especially the drama on the last day, when our convoy was trapped in a flash flood.
