Read in our local paper that three SA Female will be riding around the USA, in awarness to "Violence against woman" or some thing to that ( they are riding BMW's). They are leaving for the USA on the 29th July and they live in Fishoek, so the artical says. Why don't we have a mass ride to the airport to see them off?

Hi Ann, They did mention there names in "The Echo" (paper)and there was a contact number. But I did not take note of it. They only mentioned that they were leaving on he 29th, skimmed over the artical.

Has anybody found out anything yet? Is there going to be a mass ride for these Ladies, do they want a mass ride etc?

Hi I spoke to Debra just now and she indicated that their original sponsorship did not materialise and that they are waiting for a new sponsor to confirm - only round about Thursday. They still hope to be on a plane by Sunday Another sad story is also that BMW is not sponsoring the bikes as indicated in the article - but they surely must have enjoyed the publicity from the article in the newspaper. The ladies considered HD bikes first but decided against it finding the BMW's much lighter. The then went to test the lighter BM's at the dealership with a view of renting same type bikes when they arrive on the other side. This attracted the attention and the article came about how I don't know. Hopefully they will get the sponsorship and hopefully they will continue using the BM's who knows? They were very appreciative when I told them about the idea of a mass ride on Sunday.Thats it ! regards

my two cents worth: I would like to support them no matter what bike they ride. They are doing this for a good cause and need all the "attention" that they can get.
