want to improve your riding and actually enjoy sand. fitted my own 21" conversion kit on my 2006 R1200GS. i new it was going to make a difference but what an astronomical improvement. better handling, on and off road. actually making sand a pleasure. any interest, starting to market the kit.

How about some pictures Nikki? To me, the one thing that spoils the look of the Adventure is that the front wheel looks too small for the big bike. Website Administrator [http://honeybadger.net Honey Badger IT Services]

What rim did you use? If had a 1200 and wanted to convert the front to 21" I would most definitely use the HP2 wheel... TUBELESS RULES! ;-) Some pics would be nice :-)

How about some more information like: cost, time, is it a D I Y? and so on. BUT it sounds brilliant! Ignore opinions, heed facts. Feet on the pegs, always.

I think an HP2 rim is used with the original GS hub Corne :)

I explored this option some time ago. I stopped however after inquiring from Atlantic Motorrad what the effect would be on the bikes warranty. Response : Instantly nullified. So the standard rim stays!!!!!

the rim is a hp2 rim, with hp2 spokes, laced on an original hub. The kit consists of: # hp2 rim # hp2 spokes # new brake lines # new fork clamp I use your original hub to lace onto, thus also using your abs ring and disks. the conversion takes about 2 days. depending if you want the rim and hub poweder coated or anodized, this takes longer. but the actual taking apart and re building can be done in two days. cost wise your looking at R15000. will have my bike at nelsons creek, wanting to organize a demo track so any one interested can try it out.

Where do you get the new fork clamp from Niklaus? Wunderlich?

...and what about 21" tyres, I don't see any available for the weight and speed rating that the 1200 requires?

Last question, do you think this conversion will be possible on the new 1200 GSW (or as some call it the LC)?

Cheers,

Alf
