Yeah, its terrible.
Kinda reminds me of that accident where those girls were crushed by a falling boulder on Chapman's peak.
condolences to the entire family.
There are so many problems in this world. Luckily there's a wristband available for almost all of them.
That is horrific!
I for one would love to know the consequences the driver of that truck has to face.
Irresponsible and reckless is what that was.
Condolences to the family.
heaven on two wheels
Hey, those are my photos, I gave them to News24
The truck was going so fast, it went over the right hand yellow line on the bend, than over the white line on the N1 then rolled and the container fell on the Cressida in the right hand lane
The mother in the passenger seat was apparently going to the doctor with her pregnant daughter for her first scan
William, were you there!
Tell us a bit more about this awful scene.
Sorry, only saw the credit now: (William McIntosh, Die Son)

Dream like you will live forever, live like you're going to die tomorrow
I drove past it a few times - it was terrible - that container was so flat to the ground I didn't even realise there was a car under there at first (outgoing view)
It makes one sick.
And then this morning I am following a Freight Dynamics container truck down Jip De Jager. Of the 6 container locks that are supposed to be locked, 3 were missing altogether.
I feel so sorry for the husband.

You guys all make me proud to be a motorcyclist and not a biker.
read the articles the idot fringe posts on the Wild dogs
forum- now thats what I call pathetic excuse for adults.
It was an accident.
there is so much pressure placed on operators to get their 1st load in quickly that too many risks are taken.
so they can get another load in-....all because Transnet's port performance is so poor that trucks spend up to 8 hours in the turn-in process in the terminal.
Driver must really feel awfull and I hope the operator gets the message and slows his drivers down.
This is a consequence of the incredibly slow pace the road development of the Koeberg interchange is moving along at.
Maybe this will urge them to new levels of productivity.

Yup that's me. Standing up in the traffic on the 1150GSA.
Andyman Anyone can ride a bike fast.... But can you ride your bike real slow???
Condolences to Johan De Klerk
Morale at the traffic dept is at its lowest in years............WONDER WHY??????????
sad to say seems like this central african behaviour is only going to get worse.
Aka Beemerstyle
Andy I agree with your sentiments about the operators and the port management.
I'm listening to the truckers at the moment on their VHF radios - they are NOT happy with the incident. Some very interesting opinions from them about training too.
The problem with driving in a manner that can cause a truck to lose its load across 3 lanes in rush hour traffic is that there's little risk to the driver, it's other peoples lives they are playing with.
One of the comments that has just been made by truck owner/driver called Frank is that there's little reason to rush in the city area because they have to sit in a queue in the docks anyway. Some fascinating insights being aired.
I am also amazed at the lack of maturity evident on other forums! Very glad some of those chaps don't drive trucks!!!
