Club Lunch run 20th November 2011
Sundays and breakfast runs have become synonymous in biking communities, so how about we change it up a little. How about some Sunday Lunch? Classic Style
This is an all road affair, so shine up those cruisers, polish the rimms and slap a pillion on the back or bring along “butch, your miniature Doberman who rides on the tank or just come along solo, but come along you should!
We are will be making our way to Montague for Lunch stopping along the way to take in some Points of Interest (POI)(Wild animals and some panoramic views) . Plenty of photo opportunities will also be available. So on Saturday, mow the lawn, cut the hedges, wash the bike, take the wife shopping (for bike gear) and trim your Movember Moustaches cause Sunday I hope to have you all out on the road!
As this is a lunch ride, please pack in a little snack, your favourite fruit, biltong or peanuts or last night’s left over braai and a little water too!

I will be attending with pillion, will be my first run with the club.
Hi All,
Sundays seem to be rainy of late, so looking towards this Sunday the weather looks rather strange...It says cloudy with rain and very hot? Montague has rated temp of 30, but cloudy. So lets see how things go, get those rain suites out just in case. I will however be seeing my local wiseman this afternoon and doing the tradional scientifically designed Please Dont Let it Rain on Sunday (PDLRS) dance!
More importantly, Lunch options will follow tomorrow, but there is a vegaterian friendly option available to that is just as delicious.
Take Care Folks
Hi All,
Time is coming closer for the weekends ride. So what can we expect when we arrive??
How about some fresh breads and rolls with pâtés? Yes? How about some chicken Cordon Bleu with a mushroom or cheese sauce with veg and baby potatoes or sales and wedges?? Or maybe some farm style large pie (venison, chicken, lamb or babotie) wih veg and potatoes or salad and wedges. Or some quiche for those who don't want meat. And to wash it down?? Colddrink, tea or coffee, you decide.
They also stock a wide variety of home made jams, mustards and all things nice!!
Currently we have 10bikes coming through so plenty of space still!!
This will also be my first ever ride with the club, riding solo and looking forward to it.
According to Accuweather, Yr.no and my wife's barometer, the weather should be acceptable on Sunday, not that you should take any weather advise form me anymore.
Now am I really "biked out" is the question.
John, can we just pitch at the rondezvous if we decide we feel like riding over the weekend, and if I finish my new "to do list".
Hi Folks,
First off.....TGIF!!! What a week!!
Now to business section...As our Chief (Warren) mentioned, the weather is looking good, I have looked at 3 weather sites and spoken to my Oom in area and we should have good weather. Montague is going to be hot, but getting there may be a little cooler! Eitherway, we will be riding!!

I will write the report this evening, but I want to say thanks to all those who did join us on the ride. A few weekends (Sunday's) in a row now we have had rain, after a Saturday that was awesome! However, this didnt damper the spirits of a few determined riders! We rode through, Rain, Wind (really strong at times), Mist and even some sun!
Our two new riders, Eldred and Karin, you did great and looking forward to seeing you on the next rides.
Then lastly, to our two Brits....Mike and Chris....Thanks for the laughs! Having two old school Brits along, from "rival" ends of London makes for awesome banter and a little history lesson too!
Trip report to pop up late this evening!
Again, thank you too All!
John
