I recently purchased an air compressor from WildatHeart. When plugged into underseat 12v jack on 1200GS, it only pumps for a second before shutting down. When I called supplier they informed me that it has to be connected directly (crocodile clips) to battery - major mission for a simple task(should have bought a bicycle pump). I have thought to rewire the jack but is it possible AND how would that affect me - other applications like charger, etc. Also is it a home DIY job or auto electrician required...?

Hi Andy, Koop vir jou 'n "Hella"( lyk soos die lighter plug in jou motor, maar kleiner ) plug by Midas en kabel dit aan jou battery vas. Werk soos 'n droom op my 1200. Groete, Danie.

If you do a search on "socket" or "compressor" you'll find tons of articles about this, including how to and photos. Cheers Pete. ''The world needs dreamers that DO!''

Hi Andy, Neil did a great post a while ago regarding this - I've used and tested this and it works like a bomb [http://www.bmwmotorcycleclubcape.co.za/auxiliary-power-point-r1200gs Click Here]
