My bike is making a high pitch tik..tik sound. The sound is not always constant. More so when under load (accelerating). It does not sound like typical pinging. Had the bike in for a complete fuild change, and Donford mech adjusted the tappets and clearance (on valves?). Problem not solved. Someone mentioned it might be noize from the injectors? Sound something like a typical leak on a exhaust manifold, but there is no evidence of this present. Maybe an high voltage electrical leak? But then again, I do not feel any power loss and it is not constant! Anybody with something simular or with a possible solution? It is a 2004 model with 7700km - not the "suspect" 2006/7 which had engine control issues that was reported on elsewhere (Alf, come in Alf, where are you?) Regards

What about the spark plugs? Swop them over to see if it makes a difference.

That reminds me: I had intermittent loss of power and misfiring in one cylinder, and when I listened closely I could also hear an intermittent 'tik' .. 'tik'. Turned out it was the spark jumping from the HT lead to the cylinder head. Replaced the HT lead and everything is fine. Website Administrator [http://honeybadger.net Honey Badger IT Services]

ALF online send message over Jaco I have sent this message twice now and I hope this one you will see .The bike needs a software update but the dealer should check if there are any updates available and then go in on the control unit(BMSK) and then do a software update . That bike does not have HT leads but direct ignition coils and they either work or do not.
