I have just purchased a 2007 1200GS and find the saddle to be uncomfortable, is there a reason for this? I was under the impression that this bike would be so comfortable, can someone please comment. My pillion enjoys her seat and otherwise a very nice bike.

Hi Dennis Welcome to the forum and well done on your recent acquisition. She is the ultimate in luxury on two wheels, particularly when you have a keen pillion. The info you have supplied on your profile is great. One can deduce that you are absolutely young at heart as only youngsters would say "I am almost 6, 16 or 21". I was still 44 until my 45th birthday :) Anyways, with regards the seat. I am vertically challenged and found the only solution to discomfort is to find a damaged riders seat and get it shaped and upholstered to your liking. Mark my words; the investment was worth every cent.

I have the same model - my seat is very comnfortable - have done some full days in the saddle with no more than the normal aches and pains at the end of the day - maybe look and make sure that the seat height is set correctly - two bars under the seat should be on the same setting - play with that and see if it improves. Love to Ride

sorry to have to cut to the chase on this on this one - I had the same problem (new 2007 GS)and spoke to the dealer who "was most surprised" and said that they had NEVER had a customer who has complained about crushed balls before. (I thought that after all these years there was maybe something wrong with my precious nether regions.) However the solution is as follows: 1) Adjust the seat height to the highest pos on the front setting, and the lowest at the back. 2) When I ride with leathes the problem is def. gone and I can ride all day. If I ride in jeans the problem is still there. Hope this helps

Should the above suggestions not cure the ailment try an Airhawk cushion. This is made up of several interconnected rubber chambers. When inflated marginally the chambers take the shape of your bottom. I will not travel without. Available from Zipski in P E @ about R1,0k I too have adjusted the seat as mentioned in the previous note and it does make a HUGE difference, especially in the nuts department. I am not familiar with the 1200GS, but on the single F650's the lower saddle option is much more uncomfortablethan the standard saddle due to it having less upholstering. My 2c.
