Quick question. Do you buy brake pads only from bmw dealer, (front and back) or can you source them somewhere else? If so, where do I go, make sure it's the right size, who do I talk to etc etc? What sort of price are we looking at? 2013 adventure.

Try Trac Mac. I use SBS pads in all my bikes, from my kids chinese scrambler to our superbikes & BMW's.

Trac-mac, speak to Pat, SBS pads, pop them suckers in. Cost about R200 to R250.

I had my back brakes replaced by them - expert service.  A few days later I queried the front brakes.  They actually took them off, made sure all is ok, replaced them and send me off with a wave.  No questions or money asked.  I will go back to them again.

A word of caution with regard to your warranty.

Talk to your dealer if your bike is still within warranty.  You may be compromising your warranty if you put parts not accredited by Motorrad.

Having said thia, I too get my pads from Tracmac and fit them myself.

The front and rerar brakes can be fitted, in situ, and it only takes a few minutes.

Any motorbike shop can look up the correct options for the bikes and sort you out.

After all, a Brembo brake is a Brembo brake, no matter what marque of motorcycle it is on.
