Can anyone help me with a secondhand ignition coil for my 1150 GS twinspark - centre plug's coil works like a municipal worker, just sometimes, but mostly taking a restLaughing.

The dealer's R 1300 is too steep, for something that does not contain  gold or platinumMoney mouth

I don't advocate a 2nd hand one.

Bite the bullet get a new one.

I doubt you'll find a previously used coil that is not from a written off bike. It's not the sort of thing you take off unless to replace a defunctiont one.

Nope, sorry,

My 1150 GSA ran to over 1000 000km before i hade to dig deep for new coils.

Run an add on Gumtree, there are operators in Jozi that strip bikes and sell parts.

Yuor challenge is it will be a lucky packet.

The 2nd hand coil may last you another 70 oook  or only 70km.

You pays your bucks and you takes your chances.

Hope you come right soon.

Aaah, a tip.

On the twin-spark you can run with only three or two plugs, so long as they are the oputer plugs.

So if it is an outer coil that doge, swap it out for the lower coil so you have the outers firing.

Yuo can run forever on the tow only in any way, but your OOOMMMph and fuel economy get sacrificed.

It always stumps me how it is with a clear conscience that the local dealers can ask the prices they do.

With the 11 GBP for postage from Brittain, it costs R 798

Get it from Sherlocks. Mail  james.sherlock@btinternet.com

A mere 15 days, including 6 days it was held at SA customs to open the package and inspect it for whatever they think I may import illegally. Taking into account that parcel mail takes 2 weeks form wherever in SA, not bad. Also considering that it was a 39% saving on BMWSA's prices, I know where I'll buy spares from in future: http://www.james-sherlock.co.uk/
