- Like to ride like an old man....very, very carefully.
First bike (1981) was a Blue Yamaha, delivery-bike (yes, the one with a HUGE perspex screen). Often landed on the back wheel by accident, it was a 2-stroke.
Second bike was a 175cc, 2-stroke....can't remember the make (probably a Suzuki)...no muffler. Got some touble with the campus police of he University of Pretoria riding on the Proefplaas terrain.
Third bike (1983) was aHonda XL 500 thumper, then sold it in 1986 due to student financial needs in Stellenbosch....eish...went for R500.
Fourth bike (2007) was a revisit of the Honda...this time a XR500R...spent more money on it to get it going for say 100km than I paid for it....threw it into the sea after that !
Then in 2012.... BMW1150GS... a heavy lady, but smooth....you press the button, she starts, she goes....no complaints.
My family...3 daughters and a cat....aah, yes...and 2 grandsons.
