Archive of BMW Motorrad Club Cape (2006 - 2019)

We have stayed at a self catering place several times over the past 5 years in De Rust, about 35km from Oudtshoorn at the entrance to the wonderful Meiringspoort pass. The place is called Oliviersrust (Ph 0442412258)  and offers 2 options.

There is a slightly more upmarket one of comfortable Chalets and almost next door, of very clean, comfortable and cheap self catering rooms, each with en suite shower or bath.

There are braai areas and wood and supplies can be obtained from the cafe in between the 2 establishments. The restaurant at the back of the cafe was NOT good on our last visit on the way back from the Buff in Aliwal North in 2008 , but may well have new management by now.

There is a really very nice restaurant 5 minutes walk up the road. Also, most important, there is a bottle store right over the road! The cheaper rooms are great when there is a group of you as they are very socialable with shade, braai area and lawns.
