*** Just a thought ***
Me thinks we must put weekends away in a 'trip report' to make them more accessable. Some valuable info get 'lost in cyberspace' if it is just a new thread. Even an overview kile Warren's can be the start of a trip report. I am to dof to search for the threads.
my 5 cents

Thanks boet, I love it.
Die eerste stop net voor Du Toits kloof besluit my Dakkie hy wil eers rus, so doot soos 'n mossie.
Rain clouds on the way out
First deflating stop
Eskom bemors die Karoovir ons gerief
Progress in a funny thing. We want all the luxuries but do not want the earth to be uprooted to get the raw materials. The great vasness of the area past Ceres will soon be 'modernised' wit the sub station Eskom is building there. The gravel road must now also take the strain of all the trucks and busses during the construction. The road was not in too bad a state but was MUCH better further on. I will need to visit the site in the near future to automate the ready mix plant supplying all the concrete. (Progress put food on my table as well)
Coincidence is a funny thing. Jus as Marinda and I talked about Derrick enjoying the ride we saw him stopped in the middle of the road kooling at the rear tyre -puncture was my first thought. Not this time, his bag came un-done and was caught between the wheel and the frame - A DEAD STOP. Obviousle a roundish bag will be re-designed by a knobbly back wheel and the contents had to take the punishment. The wet patch underneath the bike was luckily not pee.
The chatter and jokes that followed is a story for the campfire. The steak as tenderised in the process and the edible biscuits were claimed by Tony.
We traveled through the barren but mountainous karoo without further incidents. As we crested a hill I saw the beautiful landscape and decided to stop for a picture, lo and behold there is the group resting ahead.
We stopped for lunch in Laingsburg and did a quick visit to Floriskraal dam. (Ok we rode past and made a U turn in nowhere) I think the wall was designed by a very riligious person. It looks like a flat roof cathedral.
A nice ride over mountains and valleys gave me time to reflect on me, my famely and the creation.
We reached the campsite with ample time to pitch tent and relax. Derric had to improvise as the tent poles was all shattered. Boer maak 'n plan, the man is not going to sleep in someone elses tent.
A beautiful sunset prepared us for the night. Snorers one side please.
On tar again and the jokers never stop. ++++ had to get a spare incase the tyre go flat again.
Final goodbyes in Rawsonville and Marinda and I took a leasurly pace back home. The weather over the mountain was hot and sunny.
Ons is weer tuis.
