An unorganised International trip

Four degrees Celcius Saturday morning in Ceres belies the sun's heat, but the expectations of the coming week and many gravel miles heats up our bodies. On the very bad road between Loeriesfontein and Pofadder mishaps forced two bikes to return home, luckily without serious injuries. Augrabies Falls an -Park deserve a six day visit all by itself. At Karoopoort the customary stop to adjust suspension and tyre pressure CeresCeres Karoopoort Wiele nagaanKaroopoort Wiele nagaan bloukranz 1bloukranz 1 bloukranz 2bloukranz 2 Middagete in CalviniaMiddagete in Calvinia 'n Pofadder op pad na Pofadder'n Pofadder op pad na Pofadder Ariving at PofadderAriving at Pofadder Augrabies kampAugrabies kamp Tipies van Augrabies 1Tipies van Augrabies 1 Tipies Augrabies 2Tipies Augrabies 2 Tipies Augrabies 3Tipies Augrabies 3 Traveling to Onseepkans surprised us in many ways. The road, the aged signposts still reffering to Suidwes Afrika, and the speed and ease of passing through border control. At Sendelingsdrift it was equilly efficient, maybe because of low traffic volumes. Gravel roads in these parts of the Northern Cape really takes from you much more than you could imagine. Banks of sand and fine gravel require focus and attention on the riding. Actually an opportunity to enjoy the GS's incredible ability. With a full load and two up these bikes just kept on making it easy, even while my suspension where not set optimally. Old German hospitality and atmosphere are always so enjoyable in rural Namibia. We extended our stay in Abiqua with one day in order to visit the Canyons, and as an added bonus discovered the Roadhouse where Olaf had a slice of ApfelStroedel!! Blind corners and narrow spots makes this a slow road, but scene after scene after scene makes me wanna go back just now! Rosh Pinah provided excellent shopping. The Richtersveld is the nature lovers dream. On a motorbike this area constitutes something that one could call heaven on earth. Definately worth a lot more visits, unfortunately our changed minds at Abiqua did not allow us time to explore this area. We just drove through. Quite technical roads took their toll on the remaining bikes. a Town in the desert!a Town in the desert! Well done Daantjie. But who was on the trip, other than Olaf and yourself? Please edit yr post to include the runners...and the pretenders. What happened? Changing mind is good, too rigid is not always good. Thats the beauty of small groups. Excellent report. Andyman Yup that's me. Standing up in the traffic on the 1150GSA.

I can't do anything. They have been reduced too small. You need to upload the large pictures yourself, like this: # Scale the pictures to 1024 pixels wide (you scaled the ones on the page currently to 300 pixels it seems), # Upload them just like you did the ones that are here now, # The system will produce the smaller version for display on the page, and have the large version linked to display when you click on it. The [http://bmwmotorcycleclubcape.co.za/how-do-i-add-pictures-my-articles image upload instructions are here].

Hi Daantjie Yes, I see you have the idea. Just don't try scaling up the small pictures - you must start with the big originals again and scale down (you probably knew that, but a surprising number of people don't). The trip looks superb - sorry I couldn't make it. regards Charles
