The ride to Greyton that still happened ;-)

As the ride was cancelled after Etha and I were already preparing to go we decided to go anyway. Windguru and www.yr.no both promised good weather from Melkbos to Greyton, including the sometimes fickle Franschhoek. We stopped in at the Engen Garage and found Deon, Eric, Mike and Willie ready to go, totally unaware that Max had cancelled. Mike comment "What bad weather, I've got a bike with a full tank so let's go. So at 07:40 we daparted and what a great ride. Etha needed an Ertjie stop at Franschhoek which gave us a chance to agree on where to regroup after the passes - at the bridge, at the N2, at the Greyton turnoff and in Greyton. Along the way we had a good strong tail wind which was most noticable when crossing the Theewaterskloof dam wall but as it was blowing steadily did not present any problems. Breakfast at Abbey Rose was over by 11:30 and we went our seperate ways back home, Eric, Mike and Willie via N2,Deon via Rooi Els so his new GSA could get some more running in kms and Etha and myself took the gravel road to Helderstroom then on to Villiersdorp and back over to Franschhoek. To those going next week, hope your weather will be as good as ours was!
