Hi, I am a member of the Africa Twin Western Cape Club, of which most members now ride a GS. I also ride with Hamman Motorrad on their organised outrides. I have done 3 GAGSC's. Nelson's Creek 2008 was my first 'BMW Club' event I have attended. I thoroughly enjoyed the event and will certainly be back next year. I currently ride a R1200GS, my second one, and previously owned a F650 Funduro, and before that a 250KLR, and before that a TS185. That was 28 years ago. Kevin (AKA CandyMan) R1200GS-WP

A Yammie DT250 and Honda's CB550F & CB750K2 in the 70’s gave way to my family, son’s Robin ('79) & Nicky ('81) and daughter Kate ('84). No longer married to their special mum, Debbie, and now partner to the ingenious Wendy. Fast forward to 2008, when Robin arrived in Cape Town on a Ducati Multistrada after a 32000km trek from Italy through Africa (http://mutitrek.blogspot.com) and left two weary Italian girls in my garage for 6 months. Well, they had to be ridden, didn’t they? Fortunate to become the new owner of a good friend’s 1200GS in July 2010 which was sold in 2014 when I moved to Umtata on a 3 yr contract.

My name is Kevin Tate. I am a Salvage Master with SMIT Salvage in Cape Town. I was previously at sea in the merchant Navy for 34 years. I bought my R1200GS in 2007 after riding a Yamaha XS1100 for 24 years. Also had a Honda 400N and a 1955 Matchless 500 single. All out to pasture now and only have the BMW. I'm looking forward to making new friends with a passion for biking. Also keen to do some gravel road riding, which I have not done much of in the past. I've done plenty mileage on tar and intend to keep on doing so.

Hi, my name is Wayne and I currently work for Donford Motorrad Cape Town

Hi, I'm Willem Smith; married to Hanlie and have no kids. I'm a town planner and work for the Provincial Government. I bought myself a GS in 2007 and taught myself to ride. In 2010 I bought a new GS which I intend riding for a few more years. I don't like riding gravel roads and therefor stick to tar.

I have moved to Stellenbosch recently. Prior to riding my 800 I had a 1200 for a while, before that a MBX 50cc in high school. I am married with 2 small kids and one of the main reasons why we moved to the western cape is to enjoy the outdoor lifestyle and what better way to get that exposure than on your bike.
I just love riding the R1200GS.....from the back seat. My other half has about 30 years experience on a bike.
