Day ride - Paarl Mountain Nature reserve.

"Daniel thanks for taking us out on this ride. I never knew the Paarl mountain was such a lekker ride!" Daniel Alan Vernon Corné John + Tania Steve (Cloud) Tall guy on a GSA (Forgot his name... sorry) Guy on a 1200GS (Forgot his name... sorry) We all assembled at Nelsons Creek where we were, as always, greeted by the friendly Nelson family and where offered some much needed coffee. Alan Nelson are now the proud owner of a 2004 1200GS. Now he doesn't have to `drop` Daniel's bike ;-) he he.. just kidding... Alan I wish you many safe clicks on your bike. Daniel soon got us all settled and gave some direction for the ride. Vernon did the `bessem` work for us. The Paarl mountain is a nice easy ride. Great place to take a pillion and hone the rider/pillion skills. There are some stunning views from the top however climbing up those rocks to the view point is not the easiest thing to do with bike shoes on :-) I can't remember where we had lunch but basically all of us had TWO pies (homemade) and ginger beer. I was sufficiently stuffed after that and could barely put my jacket back on :-) Most people left after lunch. Myself, Daniel, Alan and Vernon went through the `forest` section at Nelson Creek... Always lekker to do that! I would ride the Paarl mountain any day! Thanks again Daniel :-)

Aai Corné I wished I could do that ride with you guys, Annie n I met Allan n Daniel at the Engen stop in Heidelberg- in the rain on Saturday 3rd May. Daniel told me about the ride. A n D were on their way to Plett for a week, rain giving them a less than comfortable ride. Annie grew up on Paarl Mountain so rifing it on the bikes is now a must. If you took pics, please post 'em. Andyman Yup that's me. Standing up in the traffic on the 1150GSA.

It was a lovely ride. I've always meant to visit the Paarlberg reserve, but never got round to it. so thanks to Daniel for setting it up. The scenery and views are unbelievable. We had lunch at the Red Star farmstall near Nelson's Creek, but I think we should have had a picnic on the mountain instead. Maybe next time. The great thing about the ride, is that it is juts so close to home that one could do it weekly.
There are so many problems in this world. Luckily there's a wristband available for almost all of them.
