Buccaneer run

Many of you are aware of Think Bike (TB). It is not a club, but merely an awareness campaign to promote biker safety. The aim is to ask motorists to be on lookout for bikers and to ask motorcyclists to wear ATGATT and ride responsibly. The idea started in Brittain a few years ago. Later Brian Cannoo brought this idea to South Africa. Brian was fondly known as the Buccaneer (Bucc). He was born in the Southern Suburb, but spent his last years in Johannesburg. On 18 February 2008 Bucc was killed in a motorcycle accident, when a bus made an illegal U-turn. (actually the accident happened a few days earlier, he was in ICU for a few days before he passed away) Riders briefing at OtteryRiders briefing at Ottery On Sunday 15 February 2009 a group of riders gathered at Ottery Hypermarket and had a memorial run for Bucc. The ride wass attended by Bucc's brother. We then rode to his parent place in the Southern Suburbs. Here we stopped and observed a moment of silence in rememberance of Bucc, and all other "fallen bikers". Let's just say this was very emotional .... Here the Pastor of the Biker Church spoke a few words in rememberance of Bucc. Pastor saying a few words ...Pastor saying a few words ... It was good to see so much diversity in the group (bikes/races/clubs/etc), all united for a common goal. PS I do have some pictures of this (at home) and will load it later.
